In 1968, several local and seasonal residents purchased the nine-hole course connected to the old Mingo Springs Hotel. Four families shared in operating it. In 1971, the group then purchased the nine holes on the Country Club side and made plans to create one 18-hole course. At the time, the fairways looked as they must have in the 1800s, except there were no dairy cows.In the following years, three of the families sold out their interests, and Paul and Melba Chodosh undertook not only the preservation of these antique courses, but also merged them into one 18-hole course. Operation of the course continues today under the supervision of Paul’s and Melba’s children and grandchildren.
